Education

Stepping Out works in partnership with East Lothian schools and staff, providing mental health workshops which challenge prejudice and stigma around mental illness.
For several years now we have delivered sessions for around 250 -300 fifth year pupils annually, across the county. We worked in partnership with Knox Academy to develop their "Working with Others"module. We worked in partnership with Ross High school to develop and implement their  "Buddy Scheme," which pairs senior pupils with younger ones, to build confidence, and help prevent isolation and/or bullying.

We have also offered training for East Lothian Council Youth workers, raising awareness of mental health issues for young people.

We have also worked with East Lothian Social Work team, providing workshops on stigma and mental illness.

We provide talks for community groups in East Lothian, about the work of Stepping Out, and mental health issues.

We would be happy to provide workshops, training or give a talk to your organisation, please call us to discuss your requirements.
